The story behind the house
ÉCLATAUR is a niche perfume house in Sunnyvale, Texas, founded not in a boardroom but from a personal need no existing fragrance could satisfy. The founder, Jacob Kulamackel, spent decades as a collector of fine scent, a personal library marking every season of a life. When that collection was lost in a family relocation to Texas, he did not rebuild it. He set out to create something better.
What began as private study, importing ingredients and building a precise workspace, became a calling when the first bottles were worn by family. The reaction was immediate. People paused. They leaned closer. They asked the only question that matters in perfumery: what are you wearing?
That moment became a house. ÉCLATAUR, from the French éclat, brilliance, and aura, an invisible presence, was founded in Texas in 2020. Every bottle since has been held to the standard of those first creations: made with the care you would give the people you love most.

Every ÉCLATAUR fragrance is a small batch perfume formulated by hand: Eau de Parfum sprays at 20 to 25 percent on 200 proof organic grain alcohol, extrait roll-ons at 25 to 30 percent on organic fractionated coconut oil. There are no production lines. Every bottle is weighed, blended, aged, inspected, and released by the same hands that created the formula.

Before ÉCLATAUR there was Fragror, a Texas fragrance diffuser company born from the simple need to give a new home its own atmosphere. Working daily with fragrance oils reopened every instinct the founder had about scent, and surfaced a question he could not silence: what if I made the perfume itself?
He studied. He sourced. He built a precise workspace, calibrated scale and conical flasks, pipettes and magnetic stirrer, and chose 200 proof food grade organic grain alcohol when every shortcut argued otherwise. What came of it was not just a product. It was proof that extraordinary fragrance does not require a famous name. It requires discipline, patience, and the refusal to compromise.

Maceration is the invisible architecture behind every great fragrance: the process by which raw materials slowly integrate, soften, and deepen into a unified accord. How long it takes depends on the composition, but here the answer never changes. Thirty days, minimum. Most houses abbreviate it. We treat it as non-negotiable.

How are ÉCLATAUR fragrances made?
To a documented process rather than from memory. Ingredients are weighed on calibrated scales and blended in sequence, then the batch is sealed and macerated 30 days in a temperature controlled, light free environment. Only after that does it face quality control, and only then is it hand bottled.
Can I try ÉCLATAUR before buying a full bottle?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Your first commitment should be to the scent, not the bottle size. The Prelude offers a tester of every fragrance in the collection, and every full-size spray also ships with a 2 ml tester of the same scent so you can try it before breaking the seal.
Why does ÉCLATAUR macerate for a full 30 days?
Because time is the only instrument that does this particular job. During maceration the blended materials integrate, sharp edges settle, the heart emerges and the base anchors itself. Heat cannot substitute for it and no shortcut we have tested matches it, so no batch leaves early.
Is ÉCLATAUR IFRA compliant?
